Course Memo

Leadership and Management in nursing prepares individuals to assume leadership roles based on the management functions of planning, organizing, prioritizing, staffing, controlling and evaluating. This course builds upon the roles of case finder, communicator, change agent, and facilitator and is designed to provide the student with an understanding of issues of nursing practice, roles, and responsibilities. Legal and ethical responsibilities will be emphasized. Continuous Quality Improvement, Total Quality Management, and Change Theories are applied to develop a Change or Quality Improvement Proposal Plan in the clinical setting. (Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of Level I ,II and III courses)
